Pronouns: she/her/hers
A lifestyle that revolves around alpine skiing and mountain biking, combined with a need to know “why?” and “how?” has left me with a curiosity about the natural environment. Following a summer work position in the Canadian High Arctic, I became curious about all aspects of the polar regions— from the cryosphere to the history of polar exploration. I continued on to complete a Master’s degree at the University of Calgary, where I use historical photographs to explore the surge history of a glacier in the St. Elias Mountains of British Columbia, Canada. I am now pursuing a PhD at Oregon State University, where my work focuses on interactions between Antarctic ice shelves and their surrounding ocean. As a part of the Inspiring Girls* Expeditions team, I hope to give young folks the confidence to follow their nose and to spread passion in/for the far reaches of our planet.
