My curiosity about how the world works led me to study mathematical physics, follow a research career in the physics of medical imaging, and learn 5 languages to collaborate with scientists in multiple countries.

That same curiosity about the world has pushed me to explore mountains, glaciers, oceans, and forests around the globe, entering into a dialogue with the indigenous cultures living in these environments whenever possible.

Currently working as an avalanche technician and backcountry ski patroller, I believe that a sense of curiosity, open mind, compassionate heart, logical reasoning, and sense of adventure are the essential (and perhaps the only required) tools for success.
