An important announcement about 2020 teams for North American expeditions.
Applications for Girls on Ice Switzerland 2020 Expeditions are OPEN!
Girls on Ice Switzerland is accepting applications for two 2020 expeditions: Girls on Ice Schweiz and Girls on Ice Suisse!
Are you between 15 and 17 years old? Are you motivated, interested in nature and, more specifically, glaciers? If so, this expedition is made for you! The exceptional, unique experience is completely free! Technical mountain equipment, outdoor clothing, and other gear is provided by us for you to use on the expedition, too.
Girls on Ice Schweiz will take place 10-20 July 2020, and all participants must be fluent in the German language (at least a level B2, preferably C1 or higher). Girls on Ice Suisse will take place 20-30 July 2020, and all participants must be fluent in the French language (at least a level B2, preferably C1 or higher). Strong preference is given to applicants living in or near Switzerland.

Learn more about our expeditions
Are you curious to learn more about what we do at Inspiring Girls Expeditions? This week, we’re excited to share stories told through two different media about who we are and what we do!
One of our expeditions at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Girls on Water, is funded by Alaska EPSCoR. The Alaska EPSCoR staff created a detailed five-minute video about the first Girls on Water expedition in August 2019. Check it out below:
The director of our programs at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Joanna Young, and our program coordinator, Sarah Clement, had the opportunity to talk with Lori Prima of the Hike Podcast about what we do during our expeditions. You can download the podcast on iTunes, Google, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts! You can also listen to the full interview here. If you’re thinking about applying for 2020 expeditions (the last day to register is January 31!), this podcast will give you a deeper picture of what an expedition looks like and what you do out in the wilderness for 12 days!
