Originally from the Netherlands, I studied Anthropology and Ecology. My professional career as a Project Manager with international NGOs has focused on programmes to tackle social and environmental challenges – from ensuring girls access to education in Kenya to supporting climate change adaptation on the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard.
After living in many different countries around the world, I have put my roots down in the Geneva area for the last 10 years. Being close to the Alps has given me a wonderful opportunity to combine my work with my passion for the outdoors. When I am not in the office, I can be found in the mountains with my two daughters: ski (touring) in the winter, hiking and biking in the summer. I have a lot of experience organising group outings such as moonlight snow-shoeing and overnight hut trips. I also really enjoy volunteering as a sailing instructor on Lac Leman for a local club.
I am thrilled to be the Coordinator for Inspiring Girls* on Ice Expeditions. I believe is a great way to use my project management skills to ensure a fantastic experience for a team of young women to grow and learn from each other, mentored by an inspiring team of experts.
