I was born and raised in Adams, Massachusetts, where I was a Girl Scout for most of my childhood and teens. Girl Scout adventures were my outlet and built my confidence growing up, which is why I’m passionate about the Inspiring Girls Expeditions mission.
I joined the Coast Guard when I was 18 and went on to serve in Washington, California and Puerto Rico doing search and rescue and port security. While in the Coast Guard, I knew I wanted to go back to school but was unsure about what I would study. I started community college while in California, took my first environmental science class and was in love. I finished my time in the Coast Guard in 2018, moved to Oregon with my husband and began working on my bachelor’s degree in biology with a focus in ecology at Oregon State University. I currently live in Coos Bay with my husband and our two dogs.
