I grew up in Dagmersellen (LU), graduated from Kantonsschule Sursee and received my Matura diploma in 2007. Thereafter I took an English course in Ireland and worked as an Aupair in Cheseaux sur Lausanne (VD). In fall 2008 I started my bachelor studies at the Department for Geosciences at the University of Fribourg. While continuing with master studies at the same department my interest in glaciology was constantly growing. The choice to focus on glaciers was a spontaneous job as a field assistant on Kyrgyz glaciers. During my studies I worked as a sociocultural animator at the students centre and as a tutor/under assistant for the Department of Geosciences (both the University of Fribourg). After a bit more than a year working as a project collaborator (Proyecto Glaciares+) for Meteodat GmbH in Zurich, I started a PhD in Glaciology at the University of Fribourg in April 2017.
During my spare time I was a Jubla guide during many years in the past. I still enjoy being in camps and really enjoy outdoor activities and discovering new places traveling abroad or visiting unknown places in Switzerland.
