I was a participant in the 2001 Girls on Ice Cascades expedition. The expedition was such an influential experience in my life. It solidified my passion for science and the outdoors, and laid the foundation for my career as an ecologist and field scientist. I went on to get an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in Environmental Science, and then Master’s degrees from Utah State University in Ecology and Bioregional Planning. I currently work for the US Forest Service at the Pacific Northwest Research Station. Since participating in the Inspiring Girls expedition in 2001, I have stayed involved with the program in various capacities. Being part of the Inspiring Girls community is so rewarding for me. I have met so many inspiring women over the years, and love seeing how the program inspires and challenges participants.
