Pronouns: she/her/hers
I am a geographer at the university of Zurich doing my PhD on glacier related natural hazards in the mountain regions of central Asia. I studied inSwitzerland at the universities of Fribourg and Zurich where I had the opportunity to work in the fascinating Andes in Chile and Colombia. My passion for nature, culture and society led me to explore the world and how it is changing along with climate change.
As a creative and charismatic but unathletic and easily scared kid I grew up in central Switzerland looking at the mountains from below, believing that those places were destined for and accessible to only the most exceptional people. Empowered by an exchange year in my teens and first field work experiences in my early twenties I slowly learnt that the big outdoors can be explored by all of us. Ever since, hiking, skiing, sailing, camping, rock climbing, skitouring and exploring the world on little adventures has been an essential part of my life and happiness.
Being part of Inspiring Girls gives me the chance to support and empower young women to grow and rise and learn how we are all exceptional and this world holds a place for all of us.
