Since Kathrin was a little kid she loved to be in the mountains. Thanks to her studies in geosciences at the University of Basel and Zurich, she strongly deepened her interests in nature. She got attached to glaciers during a study semester in Svalbard (Norway), where she completed her master thesis on and in arctic glaciers. In addition, she worked for the World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS) in Zurich. In the meantime, Kathrin is enrolled as PhD student in glaciology at the University of Fribourg. Her main study areas are Findelengletscher and Glacier de la Plaine Morte in canton of Valais, Switzerland.
