I research the impact of climate change on glaciers in Alaska and Greenland. I focus on understanding how ocean and atmospheric warming influences ice flow and glacier retreat. I recently earned my PhD in Geophysics from Boise State University but I came from a broader background studying environmental Earth sciences for my undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College. My first time exploring a glacier through an Earth sciences field expedition inspired me to pursue a career in glaciology. The opportunity to provide immersive experiences like that is what drew me to instruct for Girls on Ice Alaska! I also love that the program offers a blend of science, art, and outdoor exploration. In my free time, I enjoy playing rugby, snowboarding (frontcountry and backcountry), modifying clothing, and sunbathing with my cat, Max.
