Growing up in the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, I was fortunate to gain exposure to natural environments through a bush school in Pangnirtung/Pangniqtuuq, Nunavut run by the University of Manitoba, and through my work at an outdoor outfitter. These experiences changed the course of my life, leading me to pursue a B.Sc. in Environmental Science followed by an M.Sc. in Glacio-hydrology, where I studied the climate sensitivity of glacierized regions in the Upper Columbia Basin. Now, as an ecologist working in protected areas, I am fascinated by the connections between landscape nodes across space and time, committed to preserving ecological integrity for future generations.
When I'm not in the office or out collecting data, I can usually be found raising my two sons. In the moments I carve out for myself, I enjoy climbing, biking, or skiing to high places, where nature's complexities continue to inspire me.
As a board member of Girls* on Ice Canada, I work to foster a supportive and sustainable community for women* and girls*, providing opportunities for leadership, outdoor exploration, applied science, and creative expression.
