Pronouns: she/her/hers
I am an Environmental Scientist and currently working as project manager in environmental planning. In my free time I love ski touring, snowboarding, hiking and camping. As a passionate photographer, since over 10 years I’ve been bringing my camera everywhere I go, capturing from countless mountain peaks and glaciers to the cultural richness this world has to offer. By combining my scientific background with photography, I would like to highlight the importance of science communication through art, to get more people involved in climate and earth sciences, and to gain a better appreciation for our planet.
I studied Environmental Science at ETH Zurich with focus on forest and landscape management, biodiversity, natural hazards and earth and climate science. While writing my master thesis at the high mountain glacier and hydrology research group at WSL, I joined the team on different multi-day fieldwork expeditions on Swiss glaciers where I fell in love with glacier fieldwork. And then it was like a dream coming true when I had the opportunity to take part in the Juneau Icefield Research Program 2022, a scientific and expeditionary training in Alaska. During a two-month expedition, we crossed the Juneau Icefield with skis and crampons and worked together with scientists from all around the world.
As an instructor for girls on ice I am excited to combine my passion for teaching, glacier science and photography, and share my knowledge and fascination for cold and icy environments. I am looking forward to the girls on ice expedition full of adventures, creativity, discovery, curiosity, learning from each other and nature.
