Geologist, Secretary Girls on Ice Austria

Growing up in the northwestern US, I developed an early passion and curiosity for mountains, and have always been chasing opportunities to be outdoors and in mountains, hiking, climbing, painting mountains, and studying their formation and evolution. I studied Geology in college, and in 2019 I started a PhD project in Germany on how different climates impact erosion and landscapes in the coastal mountains of Chile. Outside of school, I have been a ski instructor in the US, a hiking guide in Nicaragua, a volunteer coordinator in Mexico, and a climbing instructor in Switzerland. Inspiring Girls Expeditions embodies many of my passions, and I am grateful and excited to be part of the Girls on Ice Austria team! I believe that it is so important for girls to gain confidence to challenge themselves and follow their dreams, even if that means breaking into traditionally male-dominated careers such as science or mountaineering. I believe mountains and nature have the power to inspire us to realize our creative potential and become compassionate leaders in this world!
