Pronouns: she/her/hers
Born in the Swiss Alps, I have always had a passion for mountains; climbing them, discovering them but also better understanding the landscape, the dynamics and the evolution of glaciers and permafrost. This passion for the natural world led me to study geography and geomorphology. In 2015, I had my first experience in polar regions, in Svalbard, where I studied nivology and glaciology at the University Center in Svalbard. Since then, the polar virus has infected me in a way I cannot stop returning year after year up in the North and in the South. Today, I am working for the tourism industry, where I share my time between the office and the ship. A part of the year I am still guiding on board expedition ships in polar regions, both in the Arctic & Antarctica, to raise awareness about the fragility of our planet and sharing stories about polar regions among the passengers of the vessel.
Being part of the Inspiring Girls Expedition team gives me the chance to give this special message that everything is possible for women even in male-dominated fields. Showing to young women that mountains environment can help them to earn self-confidence, to become stronger and to make the right choice for their future life, is essential.
