I always enjoyed being in the mountains, be it in my free time or at work. I grew up spending every vacation in the mountains. When I was about to decide what to study I knew geography was the right choice for me. It combined my free time with the opportunity to study what I loved.

I studied geography with a focus on natural hazards and glaciers in mountain regions and recently finished my PhD at the University of Zurich with a focus on water resources and glaciers in the Peruvian Andes. I specifically looked at how climate change affects these water resources that people are dependent on. It brought me to places like Iceland, Svalbard, Alaska and Peru.

Being part of the Inspiring Girls Expedition team gives me the chance to encourage the next generation to appreciate nature and the mountains the same way I do as well as to share the knowledge and experiences I have made over the years.
