Alana is a trans non-binary white settler who was born in Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish). They are a creative, playful and passionate Outdoor Educator, and Community Organizer who focuses on facilitating inclusive spaces in the outdoors. Whether out on the mountains, or in the water their priority is in creating connections with the land, and the people around them. They are an Adventure Studies, and Interdisciplinary student at Thompson Rivers University, and work as a Neurodiversity Youth Development Facilitator in Tk’emlúps te Secwe̓pemc (Kamloops). Alana is an ambassador for Avalanche Canada, and works to create opportunities for 2sLGBTQIA+ folks in Avalanche Education.
In their free time you can find Alana in the audience of an open mic night, in the kitchen crafting up a new meal, or out in the forest with their dog, Rocket! Alana is excited to be part of a team that is dedicated on creating opportunities for girls and gender-diverse youth in STEAM.
