she/her/hers
I grew up in the Green Mountains of Vermont, where much of my childhood was spent foraging and fort-building in the hardwood forests and exploring the local rivers and lakes by canoe. My young explorer days grew into a desire to share the wonder of the natural world with others through place-based education and environmental conservation. The motto “we are all teachers'' has since guided my path as a 7-12 grade science teacher during the school year and sea kayak guide/naturalist in the summer months.
I love learning and growing alongside groups of students as we navigate whatever challenges we face, in the indoor or outdoor classroom, on a mountain trail, along a rugged coastline, and in our personal lives. Inspiring Girls* Expeditions provides the opportunity for participants and instructors to grow together in beautiful places and deepen our understanding of the human-environment relationship along the way. It offers a space where all participants can show up as their most authentic, creative, and curious selves and celebrate everything that makes us–and the natural communities we interact with–so connected by the different life experiences we bring.
